CEPA Update: Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice Brings Thousands of Students and Justice Advocates to Washington, D.C.

This year’s Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice, held on the 36th anniversary of the Jesuit martyrs of El Salvador, brought thousands of students and justice advocates to Washington, D.C. for its 28th year. Over the weekend, participants immersed themselves in education, reflection, and community, then carried that energy to Capitol Hill to advocate for migration and ecological justice.

The Catholic Ethical Purchasing Alliance was right in the heart of the action, running the merchandise table and showcasing ethically sourced products that connected the weekend’s learning with real-world choices about worker rights and sustainability. Many of the shirts (including the official Teach-In tee) were made by Royal Apparel.

CEPA also hosted a dynamic student panel featuring leaders from Loyola University Maryland, the University of Dayton, Saint Louis University, and Villanova University. Each shared how they’re pushing ethical purchasing forward on their campuses, sparking a powerful conversation with audience members eager to bring similar initiatives to their own communities and campuses. And throughout the weekend, CEPA highlighted Capeltic coffee, paired with shirt designs created by students from Santa Clara University, the first U.S. university to bring Capeltic to their campus in the business school cafe!
